The Museum World Café: Launching Synergies for Cultural and Civil Society Professionals is a collaborative event organised with the support of Athens Development and Destination Management Agency in the framework the R.O.C.K. project.
The event will take place immediately after the conference "THE CO-MUSEUM: Synergies, Coalitions and Partnerships between museums, cultural initiatives, civil society and beyond.", which is organised by the Benaki Museum, the U.S. Embassy in Athens and the British Council.
After a day of inspiring presentations, this event will encourage dialogue and nurture debate on the issues of collaboration, resource sharing and idea generation within the Athens cultural ecosystem and beyond. The event is based on the recommendations of the recently completed report “Athens City Resilience Through Culture,” the result of a collaboration between the British Council, 100 Resilient Cities and The City of Athens Office for Resilience and Sustainability (see full report here).
As part of a group of 100 cultural professionals, the participants will have the opportunity to form smaller teams and select one of five topics of cluster-discussion. With the support of the conference speakers, who will serve as team leaders and mentors, as well as five special guests - stakeholders from the Athenian cultural ecosystem who will moderate discussions as anchors, each team will exchange experiences and initiatives, and come up with specific proposals for synergies. The aim is to reach clear, tangible and actionable results, which will be presented at the end of the event as the principles of synergies.
