From 30th June 2020 to 2nd July 2020
The ROCK partner Urban Lab has been invited to present at the PlaceCity Symposium the experience of Turin in how placemaking can be a tool for urban regeneration. The event will try to answer two questions that are especially important in times of COVID-19: How can we extend public spaces in need to enjoy our cities better? And does placemaking as tool contribute towards a more caring and resilient urban future?
Urban Lab takes this opportunity to present the mapping and analysis of unused public spaces and buildings in Torino, developed in the framework of the ROCK project with the support of FULL-Future Urban Legacy Lab at Politecnico di Torino. The discussion with the other invited cities - including Vienna, Oslo, Lisbon and London - will be an occasion to reflect upon the social value of public heritage and its unexplored potential for the development of local communities.
The PlaceCity Symposium will take place online on 30 June (14.00-16.00 CET) and 1 July (14.00-16.00 CET) and will be complemeted by an explorative walk in Vienna Leopoldstadt on 2 July (14.00-15.30 CET).
