As one of the flagship European-funded projects, ROCK has been invited to attend the European Cultural Heritage Summit with a dedicated event that took place on 20 June in Berlin. This Summit, with the motto “Sharing Heritage – Sharing Values”, has been recognised by the European Union as one of the key public events of the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH) and will be supported by the EU’s Creative Europe programme.
The objectives of the ROCK event were to explore the connections between ROCK and other European-funded projects on cultural heritage and create synergies in three main areas of collaboration:
• Participatory approaches and social inclusion;
• New governance model for creative, sustainable and circular cities;
• New technologies for access to cultural heritage.
ROCK and the 8 invited European-funded projects (ARCHES, CLIC, EUCANET, Forget Heritage, I-MEDIA CITIES, Open Heritage, REACH and RURITAGE) discussed the many existing and future possibilities for joint efforts and sharing of knowledge. This projects’ partnership will allow for a better cooperation at EU-level and will improve the projects’ sustainability. It will also provide the European Commission and decision-makers with cultural heritage knowledge and policy recommendations.
The next gathering of projects will be on 15-16 November 2018 in Brussels, during a dedicated session at the Fair of Innovators organized by the European Commission. More information to come, but mark the dates already!
